ch.3, pg.76: “All That Glitters”
If you were hoping for a holiday strip… I ran out of time. I am participating in NaNoWriMo and using it to help get my submission ready for this. Wish me luck!
If you were hoping for a comic strip… Yay! You get your Thanksgiving wish! :) Sorry for no writing to accompany the strip this time. Maybe next time!
Happy Turkey Day, everyone! May you eat your fill of whatever your heart desires… unless it’s brains… and then we’ll have to get out the shot gun. Bad Granny!
Happy thanksgiving to you too. Plus I wonder what that locket is really for ?
Does it hold the shard that they need ?
It looks to me like the shard is stuck in her back.
It is actually embedded in her chest. Sorry for the confusion.
I think it’s more likely one of David’s sling-stones. Little to no resistance, if the flesh was really dry, or just ancient skin on bone.
No effect on her, either. Good catch. It’s one of the reasons we tend to use color to associate their powers. The little things that David and Hanstel do can go unnoticed if not highlighted in their special color.
It is indeed a shard. Remember that in Shards, I usually portray them as one of the 56 cards in a deck of cards; just a bit… shattered. It’s really cool in the roleplay we originally did because we’d have a random session. Players would randomly draw a single card and that would be the mission they’d go for. They could look at the card (which I hand cut in a specific pattern so that it wouldn’t match with ANY other card except the ones that attached directly to it — a challenge in itself that took over two hours to literally MAKE the magic mirror;) ) and try to match it with one they already had in their position but we never told them which way was up. Heh.
Anyway, yes, that thing in her necklace is a shard.
