Finished it, finally! Lots going on in this one. I could have stretched it out a few strips but it just seems that this all has taken a long time already. Yes, Goldie got seriously wounded and that is David with her in just a tiny corner of the three middle panels. I just didn’t have time for her… yet!
The BBW draws first blood, and on the 100th page of this chapter.
These fight scene strips take a little longer than normal due to my current work shift and the detail in each panel. Maybe I should provide a high resolution copy so you guys can see it better?
Sorry. Late evening doing stuff. I have a kindergartener now:) Ah, school:) Anyway, strip will be shaded completely by the evening.
::UPDATE:: Finished! And you can now see that the second-to-last panel does not show the heroes having much effect on the BBW.
The effect I was going for was to have the BBW flickering back into view. I don’t know if I quite achieved that though. Nothing wrong with his gear. He just found it predator-appropriate to reveal himself then.
Getting back to the main plot, our heroes emerge from the crypt. I could easily have made this two strips instead of one because there’s a lot of moving around and such but I still am looking to move the story ahead faster so I went with this condensed version. Hope you don’t mind!
This strip is blatantly copying the scenes in Iron Man I where Tony Stark is captive and constructing his first Iron Man suit (I believe it is called the Mark I, hence the title). I originally planned to do this strip about 5 weeks ago but could not seem to either find the screengrabs I wanted or couldn’t find the time to sit and scroll through the movie to do some quick sketches. Well I finally got both! If you are curious, Here are the two main screen grabs I used: Here and here. May I present to you… Sugar Punk Armor version I.
Shards has a lot of layers to it, story-wise. It’s time to show more. Here’s a little glimpse at what the Doc and the Goose are up to.
If you missed the other post, I explained the strip took so long because the Magic Mirror took forever to update. I should just do every shard in my spare time (*laugh* Spare time! Right!) and I can just swap out the look of the Mirror as needed for the story but it’s better to work on other things having to do with the strips and the chapters and not something with so little screen time..
Aside from wanting to show some of what goes on for the heroes at home base, I also thought it was time you got to see a little more of what the Library can do:) Its scrolls contain a vast array of knowledge and can actually become any form of written communication once picked up. Most people prefer book form so that’s what you’ll probably see most of.
(p.s. Yes, I am a fan of Dr. Who)
